Dr. Celia Garcia Alvarado is an accomplished education leader currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Education at the Cesar Chavez Foundation since September 2018. In addition to this role, Dr. Alvarado has been an Adjunct Professor in Urban Education at Loyola Marymount University since August 2012. Previous positions include Vice President of Corps Member & Alumni Impact at Teach For America from October 2015 to September 2018, and various leadership roles at Education Pioneers, including Executive Director of the Western Region. Dr. Alvarado also served as Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Development at Teach For America and began a career as an educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District. Academic qualifications include an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from UCLA, an EdM from Harvard University, and a BA in Political Science and Chicana/o Studies from Stanford University.
