Ellen Giese serves as a Tecnologista Pleno and Associate Researcher at CETEM - Centro de Tecnologia Mineral since August 2013, focusing on biohydrometallurgy, extractive hydrometallurgy, urban mining, and mineral bioeconomy. Prior to this role, Ellen completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship at Escola de Engenharia de Lorena, researching the optimization of sugarcane bagasse digestibility using cellulolytic enzymes, and held Post Doctoral Fellowships at Lakehead University and Universidad de Castilla La Mancha, engaging in research related to immune-stimulating oligosaccharides and extraction of yeast manoproteins, respectively. Ellen earned a Doctorate in Food Science and Engineering from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, a Master's in Biotechnology, a specialization in Applied Biochemistry, and a Bachelor's in Chemistry, all from UEL - Universidade Estadual de Londrina.
