Lana McDermott has been an educator for Gustine and Cameron ISD in Texas for 31 years. She is originally from Thorndale, TX. She has taught fourth grade as well as junior and high school agriculture. Lana has been awarded the Temple Telegram Golden Apple Award. She says her favorite thing about teaching was working with the students.
Lana had the chance to use iCEV’s curriculum in her classroom before she retired and she says she loved it. “Having all of the help and support made me want to help other teachers and show them the benefits of the program.” Her favorite part of working at iCEV is meeting the teachers and administrators and hearing about their experiences. Since retirement, Lana has been taking care of her parents. She has also had the opportunity to work the Hamm’s Booth at the Fort Worth and Houston Stock Show and watch the students show.
