Vilma Gomez

Vilma Gomez, originally from Edinburg, TX, was an agriculture science educator for over 20 years. She has taught at Pharr San Juan Alamo CISD, Edinburg CISD and was also an administrator with La Villa ISD. Gomez says her favorite thing about teaching was making students aware of their potentials and observing them become productive citizens of society.

Since retirement, Gomez has worked as a curriculum consultant for charter schools and Rio Grande Valley Linking Economic & Academic Development which partners with businesses to prepare CTE youth with leadership and career readiness skills.

Gomez says she enjoys working for iCEV because it allows her to still be involved in education, see old friends and meet new people. “IShecan relate to Career & Technical Education teachers and enjoy making their teaching experience more meaningful and rewarding through iCEV.”
