Flora Montealegre Painter

Flora Montealegre Painter has a diverse and extensive work experience. Flora Montealegre currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at CEVALDOM. Previously, they held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Fundación CRUSA. Flora Montealegre also served as Vice President of the Board of Directors at Banco Nacional de Costa Rica. Flora has worked as a Consultant at CINDE - Costa Rica Investment Promotion Agency. Flora Montealegre has had a long and successful career at the Inter-American Development Bank, where they served in various roles including Resident Country Representative, Chief, Competitiveness and Innovation Division, and Principal Science and Technology Specialist. Before joining the Inter-American Development Bank, Flora worked as an Operations Specialist at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Staff Consultant and Manager at Ernst & Young.

Flora Montealegre Painter has a diverse educational background. In 1978, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at Swarthmore College. Flora Montealegre went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Latin American Studies and Economic Development from Georgetown University between 1978 and 1980. Later, from 1983 to 1987, Flora pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance at the University of Maryland. In 2012, they attended the Harvard Kennedy School and The Wharton School for Executive Education Diplomas in Development Economics and International Development, as well as Organizational Leadership, respectively. Additionally, Flora acquired Executive Education Diplomas from Harvard Kennedy School in 2004 and 2014 in the fields of Science, Technology & Innovation Policy and Infrastructure & the Market Economy.
