Vincent J. Harrand

VP, IP & Technology Commercialization at CFD Research Corporation

Dr. Harrand joined CFD Research in 1991, and oversees technology commercialization efforts and R&D transitioning to DoD, NASA, other US Government agencies. He is responsible for CFD Research’s intellectual property and patent portfolio (80+ patents) and technology licensing. Dr. Harrand runs the CFD Research Innovation Accelerator in which employees can propose new product ideas and get IR&D funding to further develop the idea into product. Dr. Harrand oversees the various corporate spin-outs and subsidiaries, plays an active role in some of them, and works with national accelerators to obtain seed/VC funding for spin-out companies. As such, Dr. Harrand is Chief Technical Officer (CTO) in SonoProTech, LLC (SonoProtech), and EVP for R&D in SemanticGuard, Inc. (SemanticGuard). Previously, he was a lead manager in CFD Research’s commercial software division that was spun-off along with 45 employees to an International Software Company in 2004. Dr. Harrand has Computer Science degrees from Univ. of Amsterdam and UA/Huntsville.
