Chip Steppacher

Chip Steppacher supports the firm’s banking and financial services practices. He has over 25 years of senior financial management experience in investment and commercial banking, broker dealers, asset management, hedge funds and financial services organizations. Chip’s experience has been focused on improving operating performance, managing operational capabilities and internal controls, executing due diligence and completing strategic acquisitions.

Chip held a number of senior leadership positions within the Capital Markets, Finance and Business Management teams at JP Morgan and Bear Stearns. He has significant experience in Fixed Income, Equities and Commodities products and markets. Most recently, Chip was instrumental in building and centralizing the regulatory capital management capabilities at JP Morgan, including compliance with the new regulatory capital rules and capital stress testing. Prior to that role, he led the due diligence and integration of four commodities businesses acquired by the firm. Chip has held several global controllership roles including as an Assistant Corporate Controller at Bear Stearns. He began his career in audit and consulting as a Manager with Ernst & Young in New York.

Chip is a CPA. He has a BA in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
