Jeffrey Appleman

Jeffrey Appleman is a Director in the firm’s Manufacturing, Distribution and Business Services practice. Jeffrey has over thirty years of experience, both in public accounting and the private sector. During his career in public accounting, primarily at Marks Paneth, Jeffrey served small and medium sized, growing privately held companies. In the private sector, Jeffrey has served as the CFO at Love and Quiches, a domestic and international frozen food desert company and at Standard Folding Cartons, a paper converting company in New York and Louisville. As CFO Jeffrey was a key member of the senior leadership teams and worked directly with Boards of Directors, bankers, auditors and outside counsels.

Jeffrey’s career in the private sector has been focused on accounting operations, restructuring, financial reporting and mergers and acquisitions. While at Love and Quiches, Jeff was directly involved in restructuring both the financial and operational parts of their business. His experience includes overall responsibility for financial reporting, both internal management reporting and external reporting to third-party lenders. Jeffrey was also responsible for budgeting, monitoring of operational controls, business metrics, inventory management, and special projects to streamline operations, and meet strategic goals. He was directly involved with building and mentoring teams and M&A activities from deal negotiation to due diligence to integration of acquired businesses. Jeffrey is a CPA and is a member of the New York Society of CPAs. He graduated with a BS in Accounting from Baruch University and serves on the Board of the Association of Merger and Acquisition Advisors (AMAA) – Long Island Chapter.
