Tom Aiken is a director in the firm’s software technology practice. He also has experience in electronics manufacturing, nonprofit, medical devices, cleantech, advanced materials, heavy manufacturing, social media, and telecommunications. He has more than twenty-five years of financial experience as a CFO of public and venture-backed companies as well as a trusted business consultant of private businesses and nonprofit organizations. He has experience in developing strategic plans, budgets, financial policies, procedures and internal controls; providing interim support of accounting and finance organizations; directing audit preparation, systems implementation and refinancing of projects. Tom has also assisted in IPO preparation, investor due diligence, raising capital, liaison with banks and investors, and financial and operational assessments. Additionally, he has been involved in various turnarounds.
Over the years, Tom has had experience, including international, while working for the following companies: Cedarwood Partners, J.F. Smith & Associates, DGK Group, Prescient Applied Intelligence, Inc., Lamina Ceramics, Inc., Sychip, Inc., GMT Microelectronics Corp., Teleos Communications, Inc., Gandalf Systems Corp., Infotron Systems Corp., Penn Central Corp., Ford Aerospace Corp., General Electric, and the U.S. Army.
Tom is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants. He is a Founding Board member of Executive Leaders for Advisory Boards (ELAB) and more recently served on the Board of the Mental Health Partners and chair of the Governance Committee and member of the Finance Committee. In 2015 Tom was nominated to the New Jersey Technology Council CFO Hall of Fame. Previously Tom served as the Vice Chairman of the Board, and Chair of the Audit Committee, of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group. He has served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures as well as on boards and advisory boards of several public and private companies and is a subject matter expert for the CleanTech Open. Tom received a B.S. Business Administration from Virginia Southern College and post graduate studies at Temple University.
