Don Swanson has a diverse work experience spanning more than a decade. Don started as the Vice President of Agronomy Operations at FC Cooperative-Ames Iowa in June 2007, where they were responsible for forecasting, operations, CAPEX, hiring, and personnel management. Don was also part of the senior team. In March 2009, they moved to CHS, Inc as a Business Solutions Manager, a role they held until November 2009. Don then joined United Farmers Cooperative as the Vice President of Agronomy in November 2009, where they managed all aspects of the role, including hiring personnel, pricing retail, purchasing, forecasting, and managing P&L. Don stayed with the company until June 2014 when they joined Central Valley Ag Cooperative as the CFO. Don retired in May 2021 and is currently serving as a Director at CFO Systems, LLC in Omaha since September 2021.
Don Swanson has a strong educational background in business and agriculture. Don obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agronomy Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln between the years 1979 and 1982. Following this, they pursued further education at the University of South Dakota from 1988 to 1991. At the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business, Don earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they obtained another MBA degree from the University of South Dakota during the same time period, with a focus on Business.
