Joseph Feese is the current Director of Public Relations at the CFP Board. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of External Communications at the Electronic Transactions Association from October 2020 to April 2022. In this role, they led content strategy and development, directed media and public relations campaigns, planned events, implemented social media strategies, and ensured brand consistency.
During their time at the ETA, Feese increased LinkedIn followers by 10% and engagement by 123% in ~6 months by writing compelling audience-driven content, including targeted tagging, which led to a new LinkedIn-driven membership recruitment pipeline. Joseph also drafted publications in collaboration with the GR team and members, including 1) “7 Guiding Principles for CBDC,” suggesting standardized guidelines for the federal government when evaluating a proposed CBDC, and 2) “5 Guiding Principles for Crypto," a guide for policymakers to consider when developing cryptoasset laws. In addition, they boosted the weekly newsletter open rate by 10% in one month and standardized content creation, submission, and newsletter design production to include customer-centric content and eliminate grammatical errors. Lastly, they created ETA’s first Editorial Style Guide to ensure 12 staff writers, 10 vendors, and submissions from ETA’s hundreds of member companies all adhere to editorial standards.
Joseph Feese holds a B.S. from The George Washington University in Advertising from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Joseph also holds certifications from LinkedIn in Driving Change and Anti-Racism, Change Management Tips for Leaders, Effective Listening, Unconscious Bias, Blockchain Basics, and AI in Fintech Essential Training. In addition, they are certified by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in COVID-19 Contact Tracing and by Google Analytics for Business as a Google Analytics Certified Individual. Finally, they hold a Publications Specialist certification from George Washington University.
