Joe Russell

Joe Russell has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Joe is currently working at CH4Global as the Global Head of Analytical, where they lead the analysis for asparagopsis seaweed as a climate tech. Joe is responsible for delivering high-quality results and supporting the company's growth in methane reduction. Prior to this, Joe worked as an Analytical Laboratory Supervisor at CH4Global, where they designed and validated analysis methods for bromoform in asparagopsis seaweed.

In addition to their current role, Joe has also volunteered at Project Island Song and Carbon Neutral New Zealand Trust. At Project Island Song, they served as a volunteer, and at Carbon Neutral New Zealand Trust, they worked as a Volunteer Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data Researcher, conducting research based on publicly available data.

Joe's earlier experience includes working as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge and as a QC Chemist at the same institution. Joe managed quality control testing of PET radiopharmaceuticals and was involved in method development and validation.

Prior to their time at the University of Cambridge, Joe pursued a PhD in HPLC at the University of the West of England. Joe'sdoctoral project focused on the analysis of polar drugs using high-performance liquid chromatography.

Joe's earlier career includes roles as a Radiopharmacy Technician at Hammersmith Medicines Research Ltd and various positions at GE Healthcare, including Senior Production Technician, Junior Radiopharmacy Technician, and Driver/Technical Assistant.

Joe Russell attended the University of the West of England from 2012 to 2016, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in HPLC. Prior to that, they studied at The Open University from 2007 to 2011 and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a 2:1 grade in Molecular Science.
