Richard Barrett

Richard Barrett has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Richard is currently working as a Mathematics Teacher at Aspen View Academy since 2021. Previously, they served as a School Principal at Challenge To Excellence Charter School in 2019. Richard also worked as an Educator and Consultant independently starting from 2018. Additionally, they were a Consultant at a self-employed position in 2018. Richard Barrett has also held the position of Head of Schools at KIPP Dallas Fort-Worth Public Schools from 2017 to 2018. Richard served as the Executive Director of SkyView Academy from 2015 to 2017. Richard has prior experience as a School Director at Pioneer Charter School from 2010 to 2014. Richard founded KIPP Denver Collegiate High School in 2008 and served as the Founder, School Leader, & Teacher there until 2009. Richard also played a significant role as the Founder of KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy in 2002, a Charter Middle School serving students in grades 5-8 in West Denver. Prior to that, Richard worked as a Teacher and Grade Chair (Math/History/Science) at KIPP Houston from 1998 to 2001.

Richard Barrett obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Connecticut from 1987 to 1991. Richard then pursued their Masters degree in ESL from the University of Colorado Boulder, from 2010 to 2014.
