Lorrie Pearson has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles within the field of urban planning and development. Lorrie is currently serving as the Executive Director at the Champaign County Forest Preserve District. Prior to this, Lorrie worked at the City of Urbana, Illinois, where they held the positions of Community Development Services Director, Deputy Director of Community Development/Planning Manager, and Planning Manager and Zoning Administrator. Lorrie also gained valuable experience as the Planning & Zoning Administrator at the City of Evanston and as the Land Development Manager at the City of Champaign. Earlier in their career, Lorrie worked as a Senior Site Planner at Arlington County, an Urban Planner at the City of Alexandria, and an Environmental Planner at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Lorrie also served as a Denton Program Officer (Contractor) at the US Agency for International Development. Lorrie's work experience began as a Project Assistant at Jenner & Block.
Lorrie Pearson, AICP, LEED AP, has a diverse educational background. Lorrie holds a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University, obtained in 2021. Lorrie also has a Master's degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earned between 1999 and 2001. Lorrie completed their undergraduate studies at Cornell College, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Politics, and International Relations in 1995. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications, including Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner in 2021, AICP Certified in 2009, and various LEED AP certifications.
