Catarina Ramos

Head Communications, Events & Outreach at Champalimaud Foundation

Catarina Ramos has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Catarina started their career as an intern at BIAL in 2001, followed by an internship at Aicep Portugal Global. In 2002, they interned at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation. Catarina then pursued their PhD in Biochemistry at Universidade do Porto and Università degli Studi di Milano, specializing in molecular biology. After completing their PhD, Catarina worked as a Post-doc at Instituto de Medicina Molecular from 2008 to 2013. Catarina then joined Champalimaud Foundation in 2013, where they held various roles related to science communication and event management. Most recently, they served as the Head of Communications, Events & Outreach at Champalimaud Foundation.

Catarina Ramos has a diverse education history. Catarina started their academic journey in 1997 at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where they pursued a degree in Microbiology and completed it in 2001. Following this, they continued their studies at Universidade do Porto from 2002 to 2007, completing a PhD in the field of Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

In 2011, Catarina moved to Universidade Nova de Lisboa and pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Science Communication, which they completed in 2013. Additionally, in the same year, they temporarily attended Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa for a brief period to study Clinical Trials.

Catarina's education history showcases their deep interest and commitment to various scientific disciplines, including Microbiology, Biological and Biomedical Sciences, and Science Communication.
