Maria Carolina Strano Moraes

Maria Carolina Strano Moraes, PhD, is a Research Assistant at the Champalimaud Foundation, involved in translational projects focusing on liquid biopsy biomarkers for cancer patient management since February 2016. Previously, Maria held postdoctoral researcher positions at New York University, The Rockefeller University, and Universidade de São Paulo, where research centered on molecular mechanisms in gene expression, mRNA splicing, and DNA repair pathways in relation to chemotherapy. Maria acquired a specialization in Medical Affairs and Medical Marketing from Invictus Sciences in 2022 and holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology, as well as a Specialist degree in Scientific Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Brazilian universities.
