Roksana Pirzgalska is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Champalimaud Foundation, active since April 2018 in H. Veiga-Fernandes lab. Prior to this role, Roksana was a PhD Student at the Obesity Lab at the Gulbenkian Science Institute from February 2014 to February 2018, focusing on neuroimmune interactions in obesity. Roksana obtained a Ph.D. in Bioengineering Systems from the MIT-Portugal Program at NOVA University of Lisbon between 2012 and 2018. Notable research experiences include a Visiting Researcher role at Glass Lab at UCSD with a project on RNA-seq of macrophages and neuro-adipose connections, and an earlier position focused on cannabinoid receptors and skin aging in diabetes. Roksana's education includes a Master of Science in Engineering in Biotechnology from Gdańsk University of Technology and a Master's program at Instituto Superior Técnico.
