Champalimaud Foundation
Ruxanda Lungu is a PhD student in Biomedicine at the Champalimaud Foundation, focusing on high-resolution fMRI and optogenetics in Parkinson’s Disease models, while also investigating genetic contributions to neural network plasticity. Previous experience includes positions as a Research Assistant Fellow at Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Norte, a visiting researcher at various institutions, and internships in genetic counseling and molecular biology. Ruxanda possesses a strong background in neuroscience, genetics, and scientific communication, supported by academic qualifications that include a Master’s in Genetic Counseling and a Magistère Européen in Human/Medical Genetics. Current research initiatives and extensive laboratory experience highlight Ruxanda's commitment to advancing knowledge in the biomedical field.
