Chris Charlton is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in research and development across various companies. Currently serving as a Senior R&D Engineer at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub since April 2020, Chris has a strong background in mechanical engineering, with previous roles as a Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer and Senior Systems Engineer at Bio-Rad Laboratories and Berkeley Lights, Inc., respectively. Experience includes advanced design and analysis in fluidics systems, high-volume plastic part design, and cost-reduction strategies. Chris also has a history of managing engineering projects and subcontractors, with notable contributions to product development at Apple Inc. and Waters Corporation. Chris holds a Chemistry (Hons) degree from The University of Manchester, earned between 1991 and 1998.
