Payam Dibaeinia

Payam Dibaeinia is a Scientist II specializing in AI and ML at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network, focusing on generative AI models for virtual cells since July 2025. Previously, as a Scientist in Machine Learning and Computational Biology at 23andMe, significant contributions included leading the development of a novel foundational model for genomics and training large-scale transformer models for disease risk prediction. Payam's academic background consists of a PhD in Computer Science and two Master's degrees in Bioinformatics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology.
