Sandra Whisler has a strong work experience in various leadership positions. Sandra started their career as the Director of Electronic Publishing at the University of California Press from June 1992 to August 1998. Sandra then joined CompuMentor as the Vice President/Managing Director in 1999 and played a crucial role in launching the website www.techsoup.org. Their responsibilities expanded over time, eventually overseeing the organization as the Managing Director until 2006. Following this, Sandra worked at PolicyLink as the Director of Finance and Operations from October 2006 to August 2009. Here, they managed finance, HR, IT, and facilities departments across four offices. Currently, Sandra holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at ChangeLab Solutions, an NPO spun off from the Public Health Institute in 2010. Their role involves providing technical assistance to nonprofits, government entities, and community groups to address issues like obesity, tobacco use, and other public health initiatives with a focus on disadvantaged communities.

Sandra Whisler attended the University of Chicago from 1968 to 1972, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology.
