Mechanical Engineer at change:WATER Labs

Joshua Paul Maldonado has a diverse range of work experience. Joshua Paul currently works as a Mechanical Engineer at change:WATER Labs since December 2022. Prior to this, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT D-Lab from February 2020 to July 2023, where they led a research initiative focused on sustainable technology solutions for rural chicken farmers in Cameroon. Joshua Paul also served as a point of contact for questions and mentorship for 8 students in the lab.

Joshua was also a Front Area Supervisor/Prep cook at Coast Cafe from March 2016 to January 2022. In this role, they supervised customer operations and ensured clean and well-organized eating areas.

Joshua Paul has experience as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from January 2021 to June 2021. Their responsibilities included overseeing a 16-person lab and providing mentorship and one-on-one communication to 8 students. Joshua Paul also developed Arduino code for running complex systems and gathering data.

Additionally, Joshua served as a Campus Minister at the Boston Church of Christ from September 2016 to January 2021. Joshua Paul led a campus ministry of 90 students and played a key role in increasing the membership to 130 students. Joshua Paul also trained other interns in servant leadership and task-oriented skills.

Joshua's earlier work experience includes a role as a Site Coordinator at Let's Get Ready from May 2014 to June 2015, and as an Engineer Intern at Raytheon Missiles & Defense from June 2010 to August 2013. In their intern role, they tested missile systems, inspected equipment shelters, and edited mechanical drawings for the Patriot Missile Program.

Joshua Paul Maldonado earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Joshua Paul attended the university from 2010 to 2022.
