Eleanor Scharer

Eleanor Scharer is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in high-level management and strategic support roles across prominent media organizations. Currently serving as Chief of Staff at Channel 4 since December 2019, Eleanor provides critical support to the CEO and collaborates with the Executive Team, Board members, and senior leadership. Previously, Eleanor managed partnerships and programming at Tortoise Media and held the position of Chief of Staff to the Director of BBC News & Current Affairs, where responsibilities included handling complex issues and overseeing projects. Eleanor's background also includes managing BBC News bureaux in the Americas and Europe, as well as directing editorial events at The Times. Eleanor's educational qualifications include a Level 5 apprenticeship in Coaching from BPP and a degree in History of Art from the University of Warwick.
