Erin Weierbach is a committed professional with a diverse background in community engagement and empowerment. Currently serving as the Community Programs Coordinator at the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association since March 2023, Erin has also owned Get Smok'd BBQ, LLC since January 2016. Previous experience includes roles as a Youth Engagement Specialist at the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) from May to September 2023, and as Youth Empowerment Coordinator at the Parent Education & Advocacy Leadership (PEAL) Center from November 2018 to November 2022. Additionally, Erin worked as a Living Well Specialist at the Center for Independent Living of Central Pennsylvania (CILCP) from June 2016 to November 2018, and as Supported Employment Coordinator at Keystone Human Services from May 2014 to October 2016.

Mission Our mission is to generate the resources to find a cure, to create awareness, and to improve the quality of life for those affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth. The time is now: Our vision is a world without CMT! Description Charcot-Marie-Tooth, or CMT, is the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy and is found worldwide among all races and ethnic groups. Discovered in 1886 by three physicians, Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Marie, and Howard Henry Tooth, CMT affects an estimated 2.8 million people. General Information The CMTA is a 501(C)(3)nonprofit organization founded in 1983 whose goals are patient support, public education, promotion of research and ultimately the treatment and cure of CMT. A voluntary Board of Directors governs the CMTA. The Medical Advisory Board of the CMTA consists of over 50 clinical and research medical professionals. This international group of men and women are noted CMT experts in neurology, genetics, orthopedic surgery, physiatry, physical therapy and podiatry. The CMTA currently has more than 20,000 patients and families, supportive friends, and medical professionals in its database.
