Thami Smires

Thami Smires has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Thami started in 1993 as a Math Tutor at York College (The City University of New York). In 1996, they became an Adjunct Instructor at Queens College. In 1999, they were a Senior Developer / Application Architect at Internet Trading Technologies. In 2000, they were both a Tech Lead / Senior Software Engineer at Comstar Interactive Corp and a Founder / VP / IT Consultant at ITS4Businesses. Finally, in 2004, they became the Chief Technology Officer / Chief Security Officer at Charge Anywhere, where they were responsible for the technological direction of the company, developing, enhancing, and deploying credit card processing products and services. Thami also managed a team of IT professionals, designed and implemented wireless applications, and created an online technical dictionary.

Thami Smires obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from York College of the City University of New York in 1995. Thami then earned a Master's degree in Computer Science from Queens College in 1996. Following this, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Intercommunications Networks from The Graduate Center, City University of New York in 2000. In 2016, they were certified as an Internal Security Assessor by the PCI Security Standards Council, LLC.
