Dr Ambreen Shah has a diverse work experience spanning over 18 years. Dr Ambreen began their career in 2002 as the Deputy Director of England at the Big Lottery Fund, where they held multiple roles including Head of Policy and Senior Policy Advisor. In 2016, they took a career break and then worked as a Consultant at Beyond Youth CIC. Dr Ambreen then joined Arthritis Research UK as a Strategic Development in 2016 and Design Council as the Director of Policy, Research and Communications in 2018. In 2021, they were appointed as Non Executive Director at Charity Bank and Board Trustee at Smallwood Trust. Currently, they are working as Interim Director of External Relations at the Association of Charitable Foundations and Associate at Getting On Board.
Dr Ambreen Shah completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in South Asian Muslims: Adjustments to British Citizenship from the University of Bedfordshire in 2003. Dr Ambreen also holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and Sociology from the University of Kent. Her secondary education was completed at Wycombe High School, where they obtained their A levels.
