Paul Berry has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry. Paul began their career in 1988 as a Credit Analyst at Standard Chartered Bank. In 1990, they joined CIBC as a junior relationship manager and worked their way up to a Managing Director by 1997. In 1999, they moved to ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and held various roles, including Head of Investment Banking Credit, Global Head of Trading Credit Risk Management, and Head of Financial Institutions Credit. In 2008, they joined NatWest Group (formerly RBS) as the Head of Financial Institutions Credit, Markets & International Banking (M&IB) Division. From 2013 to 2021, they were the Chief Risk Officer and Head of Credit Risk and Risk Reporting at Mizuho International PLC. Most recently, they have been a Senior Advisor at Avantage Reply since 2021 and an Independent Non-Executive Director at Charity Bank since 2022.

Paul Berry has a long and varied educational background. Paul began their studies at Haileybury UK from 1977 to 1981, where they achieved 3 A-levels and 9 O-levels. Paul then attended California State University, Northridge from 1981 to 1983, though it is unclear what they studied there. From 1983 to 1985, they attended The American College in London, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. From 1992 to 1994, they attended Bayes Business School, where they earned a Master's degree in Business Administration. Most recently, they attended Henley Business School from 2019 to 2020, where they earned a Professional Certificate in Coaching.
