Michael Smith

Michael Smith is an experienced professional with a diverse background in strategic leadership and digital marketing. Currently serving as a Board Member and Trustee at The Charity for Civil Servants since 2022, Michael aids in defining the charity's strategic direction and governance. Previously, as Head of Search for IBM EMEA from 2020 to 2023, Michael spearheaded the OneSearch Hub initiative and contributed to global search strategy formulation. Between 2016 and 2020, Michael directed marketing strategies at IBM iX and managed key relationships with major brands. Additionally, experience as Digital Strategy Leader at IBM and Managing Partner at ID Comms showcases skills in media governance and campaign management. Michael also held the position of Deputy Director of Interactive Services at the Central Office of Information, overseeing digital media strategies for the UK Government.
