Sal Marino

Sal Marino, CFE has a diverse work experience in finance and operations. Sal is currently working as the Director of Finance and Operations at Charles IT since August 2022. Before that, they held the position of Finance and Operations Manager at the same company from October 2018 to August 2022. Prior to joining Charles IT, Sal worked at Auditors of Public Accounts as an Auditor I from January 2016 to November 2017. Sal'sresponsibilities included overseeing audits of major federal programs, conducting risk assessments, and testing financial and compliance requirements. Sal also worked as a Legislative Audit Trainee at Auditors of Public Accounts, State of Connecticut from October 2014 to January 2016, where they performed various testing and compliance activities. Earlier in their career, Sal worked as an Accounting Consultant and Accounting Coordinator at MBI Company Group LLC in 2014, where they reconciled commission payments, performed financial reporting, and processed payroll audits. Sal started their career as an Office/Accounting Assistant at Hacienda Storage in 2013, where they managed accounts receivable and invoicing. Overall, Sal has a strong background in finance, operations, auditing, and accounting.

Sal Marino, CFE completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting at Southern Connecticut State University from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, they pursued further education and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Financial Forensics and Fraud Investigation at Southern New Hampshire University, completing it in 2016.

In addition to their academic achievements, Sal Marino, CFE has obtained various certifications. In 2014, they received VITA/TCE Certification. In 2017, they became a Certified Fraud Examiner through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Most recently, in 2023, they completed the Leading for Organizational Impact program offered by the Center for Creative Leadership.
