Marcel Wieting

Marcel Wieting is a consulting associate in the Competition Practice at Charles River Associates since August 2022, specializing as a competition economist. Previously, Marcel served as a PhD researcher at KU Leuven from June 2020 to August 2022 and completed a Blue Book Traineeship with the European Commission's DG Competition - Chief Economist Team, focusing on economic analysis of merger cases. Additional experience includes working as an economist at the Kansspelautoriteit, assisting in research on advertisement and non-price competition in digital markets, and interning with the German Council of Economic Experts and the Centre for European Economic Research, where research was conducted in public finance and corporate tax. Marcel's earlier career involved compliance roles at 360 Treasury Systems AG and KPMG Deutschland. Academic achievements include a PhD in Business Economics from KU Leuven and an MSc in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
