Christian Hales

Christian Hales is an accomplished musician and educator currently serving as Adjunct Professor of Bass at the College of Charleston and Principal Bassist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. In this role, Christian leads the bass section, writes program notes for the Masterworks Series, and collaborates with the development team to engage with donors. Additional experience includes performing as a Substitute Bassist with prestigious organizations such as the San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Ballet. Christian's educational background includes a Master of Music in String Bass from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Bass Performance from Brigham Young University, graduating cum laude with University Honors. Christian has also held various roles in writing, design, and operations, showcasing a diverse skill set beyond music.
