Olivia Salas

Olivia Salas is a skilled double bassist and music educator currently serving as a Double Bass Orchestral Inclusion Fellow with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and a Jazz Double Bass Teaching Artist at the Savannah Music Festival. In addition to these roles, Olivia is the Principal Double Bass for the Savannah Philharmonic and a Teaching Artist for the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles. With a strong background in community engagement and music instruction, Olivia has founded and directed an afterschool strings program at Micheltorena Street Elementary and has experience teaching music in various educational settings, including the San Gabriel Unified School District and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Olivia holds a Master of Music in Double Bass from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and a Double Degree in Double Bass Performance and Neuroscience from Oberlin College.
