Alex Balhatchet

Alex Balhatchet is the current head of engineering at CharlieHR. Prior to that, they were a consultant CTO at This is Showroom from October 2016 to April 2018. From February 2016 to November 2016, they were the lead backend developer at DAD - Home Repair Experts, where they built Node.js and PHP backend systems for the DAD customer and expert applications. From August 2006 to January 2020, they were an open source developer at CPAN, where they contributed to http://search.cpan.org/~kaoru/. From July 2007 to January 2016, they were the CTO at Lokku, where they managed a team of 5 full time software engineers and a varying number of engineering interns. Alex has also interned as a software engineering intern at Lokku from July 2006 to September 2006.

Alex Balhatchet's educational career began at Kingsbridge Community College where they studied mathematics, German, ICT, and chemistry. Alex then went on to study at Imperial College London where they specialized in computing, software design, hardware, and maths and computer science.
