Meg Cockrell Putnam has extensive experience in philanthropy and external relations within the arts sector, currently serving as the Director of Philanthropy and External Relations at Charlotte Ballet since August 2010. Prior roles at Charlotte Ballet include Director of Philanthropy and Director of Individual Giving. Prior to joining Charlotte Ballet, Meg was the Manager of Individual Giving at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago from February 2006 to August 2010. Meg holds a Master of Professional Studies in Nonprofit Administration from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Charlotte Ballet

Founded in 1970, Charlotte Ballet is known for its strong dancers and versatile repertoire, ranging from classical ballet to bold, contemporary works. The company’s professional dancers annually present performances in Charlotte, N.C., during a season spanning from October to May. Hope Muir has served as Artistic Director since 2017. Charlotte Ballet Academy trains 700 students annually and the company has nationally recognized educational and community programs. Charlotte Ballet operates the Patricia McBride and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Center for Dance in uptown Charlotte.
