Laurel Shelley

Laurel Shelley serves as the Athletic Director and Lower School Physical Education Teacher at Charlotte Preparatory School since June 2012, focusing on Physical Education for Kindergarten through 4th grade students and coaching the Middle School Girls Basketball team. Additionally, Laurel contributes as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach at Charlotte Country Day School since August 2017 and has experience coaching National and Regional Level travel teams at Carolina Juniors Volleyball from November 2012 to June 2022. Previous coaching roles include Head JV Volleyball Coach at Providence Day School from August 2015 to November 2016 and serving as Female Lead Resident Counselor at Camp Canaan. Laurel's academic background includes two Bachelor of Science degrees in Physical Education from Winthrop University, earned between 2006 and 2010, along with experience as a Graduate Assistant at the same institution, where responsibilities included teaching activity classes and assisting in Physical Education classes.
