Charles Weakland has extensive experience in security and operations within the motorsports and automotive industries. Currently serving as Events Security at Charlotte Motor Speedway since May 2016, Charles is responsible for ensuring guest safety during events and assisting with incident investigations. Charles also has experience as a Security Intern at the Speedway. An accomplished student of Motorsport Management at Belmont Abbey College, Charles has a background that includes roles as a Welder/Fabricator at McNichols Company, Mechanic at Mecklenburg Fleet and Auto, and Support Manager at Walmart's Tire and Lube Express. Additionally, Charles served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a Hull Maintenance Technician. Charles's education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Motorsports Management from Belmont Abbey College and an Associate in Applied Science in Motorsport Management Technology from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
