Ej Underwood

EJ Underwood has extensive experience in fundraising and management within the nonprofit sector. Since April 1992, EJ served at Charlotte Rescue Mission, holding various leadership roles including Director of Principal and Planned Gifts, where EJ focused on major and estate gifts and initiated the growth of an endowment. In the role of Manager of Major Gifts and later Director of Development, EJ significantly expanded the donor base from 4,425 to 32,027 and increased operating income from $631,000. Prior to this, EJ was the owner of The Pennysaver from 1989 to 1992, publishing a weekly shopper. EJ's education includes studies at Duke University and Smithdeal Massey Business College.
