Kate Elmes has a diverse work history, beginning in 2007 as a Boarding House Matron and Physical Education Teacher at Queen Elizabeth's Community College. In 2008, they became a Marketing Assistant/Food and Beverage at Watermark Glenelg, where they stayed until 2012. In 2010, Kate had work experiences at Coca-Cola Amatil, KWP! Advertising Pty Ltd, and Coopers Brewery Ltd. Kate then joined SKYCITY Adelaide in 2012 as a Marketing Coordinator. From 2013 to 2018, Kate worked at RICS, starting as a Global Brand Development Executive and later becoming a Global Brand Development Manager. Kate'srole involved brand development, visual identity compliance, and the rollout of new branding initiatives. Most recently, Kate served as a Marketing and Brand Manager at The Walshe Group from 2018 to 2019. Currently, they are a Marketing Executive at Charter Hall, where they began in 2019.

Kate Elmes began their education at Scotch College, where they completed their high school education from 2001 to 2006. In 2008, they enrolled at the University of Adelaide and pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and Management, which they completed in 2010. That same year, they also attended Adschool Adelaide, where they completed a Foundation Course in Advertising. Additionally, Kate attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing, with a focus on Marketing, Management, and Sport Marketing.
