Matthew Nielsen has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Matthew is currently a Member of the K-12 Professional Practices Advisory Committee. In 2021, they served as a Board Member for both the Arizona Coalition of School Board Members and East Valley Together. In 2019, they founded and became the Chairman of the Educational Freedom Institute. Prior to that, they held positions as the Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at Charter One from 2017 to 2019. Matthew Nielsen attended Creighton University from 2012 to 2013, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree at the School of Law with a focus on Organizational Negotiation. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, they attended California State University-Sacramento and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications, with a specialization in Interpersonal and Small Group studies.

Additionally, Matthew Nielsen holds certifications as an Amateur Radio Operator, acquired from the Federal Communications Commission in June 2008. Matthew also possesses a Mediator certification from the State of Nebraska, although the specific dates of obtaining this certification are unavailable.
