Althea Holford has a strong background in education and government affairs. Althea most recently held the role of Vice President of Seed at Charter School Growth Fund. Prior to that, they served as Director of Partnerships - West at EL Education, Inc., where they oversaw the implementation of language arts curriculum and whole school models across the West Coast. Althea has also held leadership positions at Leadership for Educational Equity, KIPP DC, and The Broad Center. Althea'sexperience includes directing regional impact, managing community and government affairs, and participating in a residency program focused on education reform. Althea's earlier career included roles at the Office of the Deputy Mayor of Education and the DC Department of General Services, where they specialized in real estate negotiation and policy initiatives related to charter school facilities.
Althea Holford has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Althea also studied Human Rights abroad at the University of Oxford. Althea later obtained a JD (Juris Doctor) degree from The George Washington University Law School. Althea has additional certifications in Six Sigma Greenbelt from The George Washington University - Columbian College of Arts & Sciences and Certified Public Manager from George Washington University.
