Finance Director & Company Secretary Part Time at CILT (UK)

Andrew Weatherill has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Andrew started their career at Moore UK as an Audit Manager in 1991 before moving on to Nationwide Building Society as a Treasury Auditor. Andrew then joined Anglian Water Services as a Senior Internal Auditor and later worked as a Treasury Auditor at National Grid. In 1995, Andrew took on the role of Stockbroking Financial Controller Interim at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, followed by a position as Head of Internal Audit/Treasurer at Budget Insurance.

In 1998, Andrew joined XPO Logistics Europe where they held various senior roles, including Head of Tax, Pension Director, Treasurer, Head of Internal Audit & Risk Management. During their tenure, they were responsible for tax management, including customs and excise warehouses, and served as a director and trustee for four pension schemes.

Andrew later transitioned to the role of Risk Management Consultant at AMP in 1997 before joining CILT (UK) in 2016 as the Finance Director & Company Secretary on a part-time basis. Additionally, they served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer for a brief period in 2023. Alongside these roles, Andrew has held several non-executive and independent director positions, including directorship in pension trustee and audit committees of various organizations such as Northampton Partnership Homes, Northamptonshire Local Government Pension Scheme, SATRA Pension Scheme, and North Northamptonshire Council.

Andrew has also been actively involved in various educational charities, serving as a director in the Association of Member Nominated Trustees and audit committees for the National Learning & Work Institute and The Archbishops' Council. Overall, Andrew Weatherill's extensive work experience showcases their expertise in finance, risk management, and governance across multiple sectors.

Andrew Weatherill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Sciences from Aston University. Andrew is also an Associate of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and the ICAEW. Additionally, Andrew has expertise in retirement provision, DC governance, and pension trusteeship from the Pensions Management Institute. Andrew completed their secondary education at Westfield School for Boys, where they studied Maths, Physics, and Geography.
