Sylvia Rook has over 35 years of experience in trading standards and consumer protection. Currently serving as the Lead Officer for Fair Trading at the Chartered Trading Standards Institute since August 2008, Sylvia is responsible for developing and delivering training on Fair Trading Law to professionals, students, and businesses. In addition, Sylvia has been a Trading Standards Officer at Warwickshire County Council since December 1986, focusing on enforcing consumer protection legislation with a particular interest in Doorstep Selling and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Prior experience includes a role as a Trading Standards Secondee at the Office of Fair Trading from 2007 to 2008, where Sylvia created training programs for Trading Standards Officers regarding new consumer protection regulations.
