Shin Yau Yeam

Shin Yau Yeam currently serves as a Deputy Director at Bank Negara Malaysia, responsible for leading global economic analysis presented to the Bank's Monetary Policy Committee while also nurturing young talent and enhancing departmental climate. Previously, Shin held the position of Senior Economist in the International Economic Analysis unit, focusing on global issues impacting Malaysia's trading partners. Shin's earlier experience includes various roles at Bank Negara Malaysia, such as Senior Economist in the Labour Market Unit and the External Debt and Reserves Unit, as well as Economic Liaison Officer in both Sabah and Central Regions. An academic background includes a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology and Economic Behaviour from the University of Bath and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from The Australian National University.
