Melanie Whalen

Melanie Whalen is an experienced Geographic Information Systems Analyst currently working for Chatham County, GA Government since November 2019. With a robust background in GIS, Melanie previously held several positions at Esri, including Runtime Release Product Engineer and Desktop SDK Specialist, where responsibilities involved testing various SDKs, developing Python applications for automation, and conducting technical presentations on Enterprise Geodatabase workflows. Earlier roles included Geographic Information Systems Analyst at the City of Dayton Water Department, Senior GIS Consultant at GIS Dynamics, and Geography Instructor at Sinclair Community College. Melanie has a Master’s degree in Geography and a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
