Susanna Schmitt Williams

Susanna Schmitt Williams, MPA, EFO, FSEDI, currently serves as the Internal Operations Manager for the Sheriff's Office in Chatham County, overseeing human resources, budget management, crime analysis, and strategic planning since December 2024. Previously, Williams held the position of Global Emergency Response Training Manager at Wolfspeed, where responsibilities included developing emergency response training programs and leading a team of emergency response professionals. Williams’ extensive background in fire and emergency services includes roles such as Department Director/Fire Chief at Carrboro Fire-Rescue Department and Division Chief of Training & Standards at Jacksonville Fire Department. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration in Fire Service Administration, completion of the Executive Fire Officer Program, and experience in educational leadership through various degrees and certifications.
