Grant McCracken has held a variety of roles in the alcohol and beverage industry. Grant began their career in 2004 as a Consultant for Protiviti. Two years later, they moved to Accenture, where they held the same title. In 2008, they became an Apprentice at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery. From 2009 to 2014, they worked at the Boston Beer Company, serving as Head Brewer, Pilot Brewing Manager, and Clear Malt Beverage and Cider Technician. Finally, from 2014 to the present, they have been with Chattanooga Whiskey, where they have held the roles of Chief Product Officer, Head Distiller, and Chief Product Officer.
Grant McCracken completed a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus in Operations Management and Marketing from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business between 2002 and 2004. From 1999 to 2001, they attended Vanderbilt University. In 2008, they obtained an Intensive Brewing Science and Engineering (IBS&E) + Craft Brewers Apprenticeship (CBA) from the American Brewers Guild. Grant has since obtained various certifications, including a Certified Cicerone from the Cicerone Certification Program in November 2008, a BJCP Master Level Beer Judge from the Beer Judge Certification Program in November 2007, a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS in May 2006, and a Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM) from APICS in December 2005. Grant also obtained a General Certificate in Brewing from the Institute of Brewing & Distilling in January 2010, a General Certificate in Packaging from the Institute of Brewing & Distilling in June 2013, a General Certificate in Distilling from the Institute of Brewing & Distilling in June 2014, and a Certified Specialist of Spirits from the Society of Wine Educators in May 2016. Finally, they obtained a General Certificate in Malting from the Institute of Brewing & Distilling in May 2018.
