Andreas Antoniou

Andreas Antoniou has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Andreas started their career as a Systems Developer at SIRVA in 2004 before moving on to work as a C# Developer at Pickfords UK Ltd. In this role, they were involved in the implementation of a Greenfield project for a Windows Forms application aimed at replacing existing applications used throughout European branches. Andreas then worked as a Senior C# Developer at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, where they were responsible for maintaining and distributing core customer data. Andreas eventually led the re-implementation of the existing Pan-European system. Andreas then joined Barclays Capital as an Assistant Vice President, working on front and backend projects within the Fixed Income desk. Andreas was part of a group that championed the use of cloud technologies and worked on proof of concepts using Docker containers and OpenShift. Currently, Andreas is a Senior Software Engineer at Checkout.com, where they have been involved in building software solutions. More recently, they have taken on the role of Senior Engineering Manager at the same company.

Andreas Antoniou completed their secondary education from 1996 to 1999 at the 1st Ialysos High School in Rhodes. There, they undertook the A Level curriculum, which included subjects such as Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Greek Language & Literature.

Afterward, from 1999 to 2002, Andreas pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Multimedia Technology & Applications at London Metropolitan University. Simultaneously, they also studied the same degree program at North London University during the same period.
