Amit Sharma

Amit Sharma serves as the Executive Vice President of Medical Affairs and Clinical Research at Vera Therapeutics, Inc., leading autoimmune and nephrology clinical trial programs since July 2024. Sharma is also involved with the American Society of Transplantation's Circle of Excellence Governance Council, Checkpoint Therapeutics Inc. as a Board Member, and the Kidney Health Initiative's Drugs Committee as Chair. Previously, Sharma held positions including Vice President of Clinical Development for Alexion Pharmaceuticals, U.S. Vice President of Medical Affairs at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, and Vice President of Medical Affairs at Akebia Therapeutics. Educational qualifications include a Medical Doctorate from LSU Health Sciences Center, fellowship training in Nephrology at UC San Diego, and business education from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
