Kevin Novak

Kevin Novak has a diverse work experience in software engineering and teaching roles. Kevin is currently working as a Software Engineer II at Checkr, Inc. Since joining in September 2022, they have been involved in software engineering tasks.

Prior to their current role, Kevin worked as a Full-stack Developer at mySugr from January 2019 to April 2019. Kevin played a key role in developing a new corporate website using ReactJS and coordinated with the sales team in the US and development teams in the EU.

From October 2015 to April 2017, Kevin worked as a Software Engineer at Treem, a social network platform. Kevin primarily focused on native iOS development but also contributed to native Android development and building the C# service layer and backend.

Before that, Kevin worked at Cerner Corporation as a Software Engineer from June 2014 to June 2015. Kevin worked on the corporate wellness platform, Cerner Wellness, and gained experience in developing with the Microsoft stack. Kevin also contributed to making the platform 508 compliant and experienced the transition from incremental to agile methodologies.

Kevin's work experience also includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at California State University San Marcos. From January 2014 to May 2014, they assisted in teaching a senior-level mobile programming course, offering additional office hours and supporting students in understanding Java, Android SDK, and mobile web development. Kevin also assisted in planning lectures and assignments.

Additionally, Kevin worked as a Student Assistant from April 2013 to January 2014, supporting projects that introduced computer science to middle school classes. Kevin helped plan lessons, led programming lessons using Scratch and LEGO Mindstorms, and contributed to the development of a Javascript-based tool leveraging the Google Maps API for a cyber scavenger hunt.

Throughout their work experience, Kevin has gained expertise in various programming languages, development frameworks, and methodologies, making him a valuable asset in software engineering and teaching roles.

Kevin Novak earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Information Systems from California State University San Marcos. Kevin attended the university from 2011 to 2014.
