Shaun Wurtz

Shaun Wurtz has extensive work experience in tax operations and accounting. Shaun currently holds the role of Tax Operations Director at Checkr, Inc. since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked as Director, Global Tax at EMD Electronics from September 2016 to August 2022. Shaun also served as Associate Director - International Tax Accounting at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. from May 2012 to September 2016. Shaun gained teaching experience as an Adjunct Accounting Professor at Maricopa Community Colleges from January 2012 to May 2014. Earlier in their career, Shaun worked as a Tax Manager at BDO USA, LLP from May 2009 to May 2012 and as a Tax Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 2007 to 2009. Shaun started their career as a Tax Intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in June 2006. Overall, Shaun Wurtz has a diverse background in tax operations, accounting, and teaching.

Shaun Wurtz pursued their education at Brigham Young University. From 2003 to 2006, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Later, in 2006-2007, they enrolled in the MAcc program at the same university, specializing in Accounting - Tax. Additionally, Shaun Wurtz holds certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Arizona State Board of Accountancy.
